Flower Dome vs Cloud Forest, what's the difference?

Flower Dome is the world's largest glass greenhouse (by area), kept at a cool 23–25°C. It recreates five Mediterranean and semi-arid climate zones, olive trees, baobabs, cacti, seasonal flower displays that change every few months. It's more peaceful and garden-like, good for a slow walk of 45–60 minutes.

Cloud Forest is the showpiece. A 35-metre indoor mountain covered in tropical vegetation, mist cascading down its face from a waterfall. You ride a lift to the top and spiral down through cloud forest plants, an aerial walkway, and exhibits on biodiversity loss. Expect 45–60 minutes and genuinely stunning visuals, it's the most photogenic structure in Singapore. Temperature inside is cool (around 23°C) and quite misty near the waterfall.

If you can only do one: Cloud Forest is the more memorable experience. The Flower Dome is worth seeing if you have the combo ticket (and you will, since both passes include them together).

OCBC Skyway, is it worth adding?

The OCBC Skyway is a 128-metre aerial walkway connecting two of the Supertrees, 22 metres above the ground. At SGD 14 adult, it's a modest add-on. Views across the Gardens and Marina Bay skyline are excellent, particularly at sunset. It is NOT included in any Singapore sightseeing pass, you pay separately at the ticket counter. Sessions are available from 9 am; the last entry is at 9 pm. Sunset slots (around 6:30–7 pm) are the most scenic and sell out quickest.

Garden Rhapsody, the free evening light show

Every night at 7:45 pm and 8:45 pm, the Supertrees come alive with a 10-minute light and music show called Garden Rhapsody. This is completely free, just show up at Supertree Grove before the show starts. It's one of Singapore's best free experiences and a natural complement to a daytime conservatory visit. The 8:45 pm show tends to have smaller crowds than the 7:45 pm one.

Which Singapore passes include Gardens by the Bay?

The conservatories are included in all four main passes:

How long to spend at Gardens by the Bay

Plan for 2–3 hours if you're doing both conservatories at a relaxed pace. Add another 30–45 minutes for a walk around Supertree Grove and Dragonfly Lake. If you're staying for the evening light show, arriving at the conservatories at 4 pm, finishing by 6 pm, and then strolling the outdoor gardens until the 7:45 pm show is a perfect half-day itinerary.

Practical tips for visiting

• Pre-book your timed slot, especially for weekend and evening sessions. The conservatories can hit capacity. Go City and Klook both require pre-booking through their apps.
• Bring a light layer. Both conservatories are air-conditioned to 23°C. After Singapore's heat outside, the temperature difference feels cold, a cardigan or light jacket is useful, especially for children.
• Visit Cloud Forest first. It tends to get busier as the day goes on. The aerial walkway feels more peaceful in the morning.
• Combine with Marina Bay Sands area. Gardens by the Bay sits adjacent to Marina Bay, you can walk along the waterfront to MBS, the ArtScience Museum, and the Helix Bridge after your visit, all for free.
• Getting there: Take the MRT to Bayfront station (Circle/Downtown lines), a short covered walkway leads directly to the Gardens. Taxis drop off at the visitor centre entrance.

Is it worth using a pass for Gardens by the Bay?

At SGD 53 for the combo, Gardens by the Bay is a significant chunk of any pass cost. If you're already planning to visit the Singapore Zoo (SGD 48 gate price) and one more attraction, the Go City Essentials at SGD 99 already breaks even for an adult.
